Day 2 of the Katy/Cy-Fair Nike Volleyball Classic is over and The Woodlands (7-0) is still undefeated. The scores for today were as follows:
TWHS over Tomball Memorial: 25-16, 25-22
TWHS over Katy Taylor: 25-22, 25-17
TWHS over Langham Creek: 25-23, 16-25, 25-20.
The Lady Highlanders seemed to be clicking on all cylinders against Tomball Memorial and Katy Taylor, but Langham Creek was a whole different story. The team had to adjust to the high’s and low’s of the match to fight their way to a three-set victory. Coach Terri Wade described the action:
“Today was amazing! I get to watch this team grow each game we play. Our last match today versus Langham Creek was intense. Langham Creek found our weakness, but the good thing about this team is their ability to adjust. We were able to make changes and bounce back. It was a great day of continuing to improve.”
The Woodlands will square off against Oak Ridge in the Gold Bracket Semi-final at 10:30am at Katy Taylor High School. Oak Ridge defeated Cinco Ranch 25-23, 25-15 to advance to the semifinal.
